Home-based Internships
These internships are currently available through Employment Options home-based Customer Service Program. Internships are unpaid.
All interns will need to apply for job openings. Upon obtaining employment, workers will be paid hourly or commission. Although Employment Options cannot guarantee employment after training, we will do our best to facilitate placement and retention.
Software trainer
Duties: Assist clients telephonically
to learn how to use e-mail and basic computer applications:
fill out electronic applications - train staff on our
software
Skills required: Excellent communication skills, 2-5 years experience in teaching or mentoring adults. Proficiency with Word, Windows, Outlook, Skype required.
Physical and emotional abilities: Must be able to speak clearly and move mouse for software application practice. Must be extremely patient.
Education: Requires Bachelors Degree or two years previous related work experience in technology, teaching or mentoring.
Food Sales Representative
Duties: Based on warm internet leads
telephonically calling customers to offer frozen food
products (primarily seafood). Established company 35 years in
industry company
Skills required: Entry level sales - training provided
Education: High school graduate preferably
Emotional abilities: Go getter and motivated.
Screener
Duties: Answer phones
and obtain medical and vocational information from persons on
disability.
Skills required: Excellent communication skills, Word, Excel, Outlook required
Physical and emotional abilities: Must be able to speak clearly and compassionately. Must be able to document information on screening sheet either by typing or voice activated system. 30 wpm required. Must be able to emotionally and diplomatically handle difficult inquiries and referrals in an expedient manner.
Education: Requires Bachelor's Degree or two or more years previous related work experience in human resources, rehabilitation counseling, case management or management.
Mortgage Sales Representative
Duties: Contacting qualified property owners
telephonically to discuss their options for mortgage loan
approval
Skills required: Good verbal and listening communication skills. Typing keyboard skills 15-25 wpm.
Physical abilities: Must be able to speak, read and write fluent English.
Education: Preferably a high school graduate, mortgage experience a plus
Emotional abilities: Learn and apply knowledge about the customer’s needs.
Insurance Appointment Setter
Duties: Out-bound
calling, contacting persons on SSDI or Medicare retirement
benefits and setting up appointments for an insurance
representative to go over their Medicare options
Skills required: Good verbal and listening communication skills. Windows, Outlook. Able to type or use voice activated software.
Physical abilities: Must be able to speak, read lists or use Jaws
Education: Prefer a high school graduate or GED.
